CTA Review: Teradek Bolt—Wireless 3G Video

...
Super Affordable
Best of all, it’s reasonably priced. In fact, it’s pretty remarkable how little it costs. Pricing is based on which transmitters and receivers you pair together, and starts at $1750 for an HDMI out system. Going to an SDI receiver adds $200, while upgrading to Pro adds $400.
Personally, I’m shocked that for under $2000, we could send full broadcast quality video 300 feet. While it’s not for everyone, if you have a stage camera or two and are tired of them knocking band equipment over with cables, this might be the solution you’ve been dreaming about.

AUVSI: Aminom introduces seamless UAV video link

AUVSI: Aminom introduces seamless UAV video link

Amimon has introduced the Skylink, a wireless video link for UAVs that has virtually zero latency at 500m range.
"It's not compression and decompression in the traditional way. We developed a system based on joint-source channel coding where we divided the video into layers of visual importance," says David Shefler, vice president of sales and marketing. It is different from most links in that it is tailored for video; other video links, says Amimon, send the video, telemetry and other data en masse, sometimes leading to low-quality video reception.
The company built wireless links for Hollywood and surgical cameras. The Skylink is Amimon's first foray into the UAV business. Though mainly aimed at small civilian UAVs, the company is interested in expanding into the military market.
"We are looking into the military market, and they are looking into us," says Shefler.

AMIMON technology transforms Film, TV and Broadcast shooting as the proven de facto wireless standard with zero latency

AMIMON continues to lead the Wireless High-Definition Revolution in the Professional Camera Market at NAB 2013

AMIMON technology transforms Film, TV and Broadcast shooting as the proven de facto wireless standard with zero latency

SANTA CLARA, CA – April 2, 2013 – AMIMON, the zero-latency wireless video company, announced today that it will be demonstrating a long range technology solution during NAB. This technology will enhance the AMIMON Pro line of products for the professional camera industry.  The Ultra Range Wireless technology delivers zero-latency wireless video transmission for up to 400 meters.

AMIMON PRO Wireless HD Video gives directors and producers in the film, TV and broadcast industries both a real-time monitoring and the instantaneous control of multiple cameras functions without cabling. The addition of the AMIMON Ultra Range technology makes it possible for the first time, new, disruptive use cases, such as UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) based production, in-action outdoor sports events filming, and other specific range demanding filming scenarios.

AMIMON’s zero latency technology supports additional critical elements such as multicast and broadcast to up to 256 screens. AMIMON platforms are designed to support HD-SDI and HDMI interfaces with wireless video transmission of 1080p/60fps, and include new features such as time code and camera control functions in the back cannel.

AMIMON will demonstrate its HDMI & HD-SDI products offering, including the new Ultra Range technology solution at NAB 2013, Booth C4151, April 8 – 11 in Las Vegas. Many other companies will show products based on AMIMON Zero-latency technology.

“The addition of our Long Range technology is revolutionary as no other solution on the market offers high quality performance at 400 meters with zero latency,” said David Shefler, vice president sales and marketing at AMIMON. “The AMIMON PRO high quality wireless video is a solution that the professional camera market and production industry has been seeking for a long time, and AMIMON is making it possible.”

“If you walk around the show, anytime you see zero latency it is most likely based on AMIMON's solution. AMIMON has become the de facto standard for wireless video with no latency. We are glad to see our customer’s success in this quickly growing market,” Shefler added.

The AMIMON Professional product line harnesses the power of WHDI (Wireless Home Digital Interface) and offers high-quality, zero latency video and allows customization in high end products that are specific to the professional market requirements. AMIMON systems provide the director with the necessary flexibility to freely monitor the filmed scene in real time, eliminating the burdensome dependency on wires in the production location. AMIMON Pro puts the director in the center of the action and gives them all of the control. The solutions open up new opportunities to control the production of reality shows by allowing multiple cameras to broadcast video simultaneously to the production room at an affordable cost. AMIMON PRO is already deployed in professional cameras, monitors and accessories by numerous market leaders.
